The Heart of The Good Cup

Our heart and vision revolves not so much around the trade of coffee as it does around you – our  community and their stories.

 Our Story

The first time my husband Mike introduced me to The Good Cup, I immediately felt at home.  I ordered my favorite drink, a soy chai latte, and we found our way to a comfy corner.  We talked   about our dream of one day owning a coffee shop that was unique and one-of-a-kind.  We envisioned a gathering place where we could embrace the community around us and, when the time comes, a place our kids could grow up as a part of our dream.

For me, it truly began several years ago on one of my ventures to Chiang Mai, Thailand.  My best friend and I traveled over there to help my friend Anne, a local of Thailand, open her coffee shop she now calls Filling Cups Café.  We spent most of our time cleaning, painting, staining bamboo tables & chairs, decorating and tasting coffee that summer.  After one month we finally had our grand opening!  This was just the beginning of what was soon to come!

                                                         History

The Good Cup opened in 2003 by Anne Sale, a local entrepreneur with a New Orleans influence.  She shaped the shop into what it is now, a supporter of the community & environment. Later, Anne brought me on board as a barista and as for myself I was hoping to gain more experience in the coffee industry.  Instantly I fell in love with the character of the place.  On January 1st, 2009 Anne passed the torch onto my husband and I to continue The Good Cup.  We are both thankful and grateful for the opportunity to serve our community and friends.  We are eager to continue the mission of keeping our city awake!
